This website is the online archive of Professor Jong‑Jin Kim of the Graduate School of Architecture at Konkuk University. It is centered on three core themes: Light, Place, and Being.  

Professor Kim has been a faculty member of the Department of Interior Architecture at Konkuk University since 2004. He teaches spatial design, spatial art, and spatial aesthetics, while pursuing research and design projects in parallel. He was born in Busan, South Korea, in 1971. He studied architecture at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London and earned his Master of Architecture degree from the Harvard University, Graduate School of Design. His professional experience includes working at Polshek Partnership in New York, Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) in London, and Foster + Partners. He has published <Empathy of Space> in 2011, <The Unknown Door> in 2018, <Consolation of Shadow> in 2021, <Authenticity of Space> in 2023, and <Song of Shining Forms> in 2024. Unknown Door and Song of Shining Forms were selected for the Sejong Book Awards Arts Category in 2019 and 2025, respectively. Professor Kim has led several research projects supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea, including programs for emerging scholars, academic publications, and mid‑career researchers. Since beginning his studies in architecture, his work has consistently focused on exploring light, place, and being through research, education, and their realization in built form.
